Description
A woolen kilim Rug from the fifties that bears the handwriting of Antonn Kybal, a textile artist and the founder of the Kybal’s Textile School at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague. Kybal had a great influence on his students and their work is often indistinguishable from his own, therefore this rug could be created by some of them. Kilim rugs are flat-woven rugs originally made by nomadic nations. Later, they became mass produced due to the popularity they gained during the twentieth century. This rug has a distinct pattern made of intersecting geometrical shapes of bold colours. Geometric patterns are typical for Kybal’s work from the fifties. The rug is in a very good condition.
