Description
Lithograph showing the shooting lessons scene. Made in France in the 19th century, hand-painted. Signed Longlumie by Devilly and Poupart. The graphics are extremely interesting because it shows a genre scene from before the photography period. The heroine of the graphic is a woman in a male headdress, learning male activities, the subject of the show is unique for the times in which the graphics were made.
An extensive genre scene. It shows how to shoot, a young aristocrat in an elaborate blue dress and a tall man’s hat learns to shoot. The teacher stands next to the woman and closely watches her action. The servants in the background guard the beautifully devoted horses agitated by the roar of the shotgun. A boy was placed in the foreground, covering the entire situation. In the background, armed figures are running. A beautiful extensive staffage showing nature.
Graphics framed in a bevelled, wooden frame and a gray-greenish passe-partout with a dark green slip. The binding corresponds beautifully with the colors of the show.
