Description
Polychrome earthenware sculpture signed on the reverse by Isabelle Delcourt dite Bel Delcourt (1915-2017).
This French ceramist is known for having collaborated with the Quimper faience factory for three decades.
This work features a couple of young Breton dancers in traditional dress in black, white, yellow and orange tones.
The woman, wearing a long dress and headdress, is holding the arm of her partner, who is doing the same.Both appear to be moving forward, in step, rhythm and coordination.
This earthenware sculpture will appeal to connoisseurs of Quimper earthenware or simply to lovers of objets d’art and history.
