Gorgeous wooden dough bowl from Japan, carved from a single piece of wood, Meiji period, Japan.

The interior of this organic bowl is lacquered in red (urushi).

The exterior exhibits a beautiful dark color and displays a rich patina of age.

On the underside, there is a brand mark visible (see photo).

Over time, this bowl has been repaired and restored in multiple places, adding even more character to it.
