Made from the weaving mat that covers the tatamis, the Kawayama collection takes this iconic element of the Japanese culture to a new dimension. Traditionally flat and straight, the tatami suddenly expands in volume and curves, to become luxury homeware and contemporary furniture. Each object is made by hand, following a unique and meticulous process, which reveals the surprising structural properties and sublimates the vibrant effect of this woven material. The YUGEN vase comes in different colour combinations. It contains a glass cylinder that can be easily inserted or removed thanks to a simple device delivered with the vase. It also comes with a metal grid to make ikebana.
