Description
A brilliantly executed 20th century expressionist still life, painted in oil onto canvas and dated 93. This still life composition depicts an array of objects on a table in an expressionist style, using loose and gestural brushwork as well as non naturalistic colours. The initial focal point is a white vessel sitting atop a blue fabric, following which the viewers eye is lead around the composition. The expressionist brushstrokes imbues the painting with a sense of spontaneity and energy, giving the sense that the artist was painting quickly and with emotion. This oil on canvas is housed in a wood frame with a blue tint. Both painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition. Size: 54 x 43 cm (including frame)
