Description
His real name Pierre Girre.
Pierre d’Avesn was the pupil of Franois Dcarchemont at the School of Decorative Arts. He is hired by Lalique where he will remain 10 years. He worked at Daum between 1930 and 1936 where he developed the production of pressed glasses molded in the production department signed Lorraine Nancy.
He joined Verlys in 1937 in the Holophane glasses department at the Andelys glassworks. After 1945 he was found at the Cristallerie de Choisy le Roi where he reissued old ones of his models and created new ones. He remained there until his retirement in 1984. Considered the elite of the last glassmakers of the Art Deco era, he died in Paris at the age of 90.
