This is a really fabulous bed frame. There is a faction of the original makers mark still attached, the world famous Thonet who created the hugely popular round back bistro chair made out of the same bentwood material as this stunning bed.
The frame is made up of the headboard, the footboard and the two side stretchers, which fix together. The sides have the most wonderful embossed designs detailing dragons. The overall condition is worn but good, strong and sturdy. The set does not include slats or a mattress. I often find that a more cost effective alternative to having a base and mattress made to measure, is that a large, famous Swedish interiors shop, found worldwide, have slats that can be adjusted to fit these old European sized beds. A great solution to completing these beds. A fabulous and rare find.
