DESCRIPTION
Drinking service No. 238 Patrician: “These glasses look so fragile at first glance that one would be afraid to use them, but thanks to the internal elasticity of the glass and the logical formal construction, they have an astonishing resistance” Schmidt 1925, Like Strnad, Hoffmann chose undecorated thin for this service – a bell-shaped cuppa is supported by a thin thread-like stem muslin glass. Internally it was referred to as a bell shape with a high straw stem. Hoffmann designed a bottle and several glasses for wine, water and beer, as well as a matching finger bowl. The bottle stopper also formed a small glass. The glasses in this service were made in several glassworks, in addition to the glassworks in Theresienthal by Ludwig Moser & Shne, Karlsbad. This service is still in production today. As one of the company’s most popular services, it represented them at numerous exhibitions. For the export range, the resounding name Patrician was added.
