Description
Although minimalist in form, Jared does not conceive of a flat pictorial expression and the use of obvious materials. These canvases focus on the value of touch. His work aims to trigger a visceral reaction through the play of light and shadow in synthesis with the marked materiality that distinguishes these works. As with most of his works, Jared is interested in the process of the passage of time. Time immortalized motionless and in suspension, which in these works Jared seems to want to stop and commemorate. The brutal and precise expression of time is almost made sculptural and it is precisely this complexity that gives this series a captivating energy.
