Description
A rare folding garden chair originally designed by the Gebrder Thonet company at the end of the 19th Century.
It can be found in Thonet sales catalogues as model number 14003. This particular piece is believed to be made by the Thonet company in one of their factories in former Czechoslovakia around the 1920s.
This is a lovely wooden garden chair that is very comfortable to sit on and also very practical as it can be easily folded by simply lifting up the seat part and stored away. The main design feature are the slightly bent back legs, the texture of the wood and its elegant proportions.
This particular piece has no visible Thonet Company label, however all the details and the craft indicates that it was produced by Thonet.
There is some small wear and tear as well as some patina gained over the years but in general the chair is in very good vintage condition.
