Description
Stunning pair of solid bronze candlesticks after auguste-maximilien delafontaine the pair of candelabrum stand on triform legs with paw feet, and floral and foliage decoration at the top of the legs. The foundry was established in the late 18th century by jean-baptiste-maximilien delafontaine and, in 1870, was located at 10 rue de l’universite. The firm produced decorative works of art of the highest quality. This candelabrum was cast by the grandson of the founder, auguste-maximilien delafontaine, 1813-1892, he was succeeded by his son henri-maximilien in 1884 and the foundry close its doors in 1905. There are sculptures in the louvre cast by this foundry condition wise is lovely, we have lightly cleaned waxed and polished them, the old chains have been removed, otherwise, they are in fine order and are very decorative and collectable pieces.
