Description
This pretty vase, enameled in a nuanced and spotted blue, is a production of the Accolay potters. Its body is ringed and offers brilliant reflections; its openwork collar leaves an impression of a look and evokes a primitive mask. Original decorative piece with a captivating presence
The openwork vase is discreetly grooved on its surface, its neck is tightened. The ceramic is of good size and nicely signed Accolay and numbered 27. It is in good condition, some traces are visible on the enamel.
9 to 15cm in diameter, 24.5cm in height.
In the middle of the 20th century, Accolay was the setting for a true revolution in ceramics. Four former students of Alexandre Kostanda settled in the small village of Yonne in the mid-1940s; many potters followed their example. For around forty years, the production of Accolay potters will be impressive, original and daring.
