Finely painted in watercolour, this is likely a scaled down version of a work by one of the leading early 19th-century topographical artists, such as Samuel Prout (17831852), Clarkson Stanfield (17931867) or Richard Parkes Bonington (18021828). These artists’ picturesque topographical drawings found huge influence as lithographic reproductions in the various illustrated travel books that had become so popular.On paper laid down on backing paper.All artworks come with a Certificate of Authenticity and in some cases with an accompanying text or artist biography.
