Description
A Oak framed draughtsmans chair manufactured by R Tyzack of High Wycombe. The chair has a swivel seat and adjustable backrest and integral footrest. The chair retains its original green rexene fabric on the seat and backrest. The chair is stamped 1943 on the underside and R Tyzack. R.Tyzack was a furniture maker working predominantly at Slater St, High Wycombe. During WWII they took on government orders for the air ministry. This chair would have initially been used in the World War II aircraft command centres possibly bomber command HQ in High Wycombe and is the same as those made at the Glenister factory nearby in High Wycombe. The chair retains its original components and has been cleaned and waxed for future protection. There is a historical repair to the backrest which doesn’t affect use. As with all our products, This product is an original vintage item so there are signs of wear from use.
