Description
A superb Black Forest extending book rack, with the famous hand carved carved Black Forest bear at either end standing on carved logs, Circa 1880.
Black Forest carvings were thought to originate in Bavaria, and are referred to as German. Research in recent decades shows that the style originated in Brienz, Switzerland in the mid 19th century.
A really lovely piece of Black Forest Folk Art, would make a great addition to any collector. (Fully extended 32cm)
