Description
Armand-Marie Gurin was born in Paris in 1913.
His first inspirations for painting came from his father, Vincent Manago (1880-1936), a popular French painter of marine and landscape scenes, as well as his older brother, Dominique Manago.
Both respected artists, however, they painted in styles completely different from those of Armand who subsequently changed his last name and signed his work
Gurin.
Gurin studied at the Ecole Nationale des Beaux-Arts in Paris where he was, among others, a student of Jean-Pierre Laurens.
He is a leading figure in the style of the French naive school.
He died in 1923.
