At the age of 23, Siegfried Prtz was a co-founder of the Gildenhall artisans’ cooperative. The global economic crisis ended the historic Gildenhall project in 1929. His employee Emil Funk (18931973) took over the forge in Gildenhall near Neuruppin in 1930.
The Gildenhall artisans’ cooperative worked according to the principles of the German Werkbund (DWB) and the Bauhaus.
