Description
Vittorie is an original China Ink Drawing on paper realized by Carlo Rivalta (1887-1941) in 1918 s. Good condition mounted on a white cardboard passepartout (49×34 cm). No signature. Carlo Rivalta (1887 – 12 January 1941) was an Italian sculptor. He was a pupil and follower of his father Augusto (Alessandria 1837 – Florence 1925), a verist sculptor who grew up in the school of Giovanni Dupr and who had taught at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence. Carlo Rivalta is known for his portraits, with a strong realistic connotation. He exhibited at the Venice Biennale and, at the 3rd Quadriennale in Rome in 1939, he sent a Maternity. Honorary Academic of the Academy of Arts and Design of Florence in 1913, he became an Academic in 1939. He was professor of sculpture and then director of the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence.
