Description
Visions of an Old-time Traveller in the Present Day World is an original etching realized by Gaetano Pompa. Original Poster of the Artist’s realized in occasion of the Exhibition in Gallery Rondanini, Rome Mint conditions (some stains and folds along the margins) Gaetano Pompa was born in 1933 in Forenza. After the war, he moved with his family to Rome. From 1958 to 1961, he lived in Munich, where he also carried out an intense artistic activity as a musician. When he returned to Italy, he spent most of his life in Rome. He disappeared in Orbetello in 1998. In all his artworks, the artist tried to revive the poetry of the past through his airy and distant landscapes and his ambiguous and sometimes paradoxical figures, creating a series of suggestions that overlap with the insistence of memories, mixing past and present with a visionary enchanting faculty.
