Round Medusa is an original etching realized by Giacomo Manz in 1970s. Hand-signed. Numbered on the lower left. Ed. 53/125. The state of preservation is very good. Published in the artwork series: “Giacomo Manz: Fifteen original etchings and aquatints”, by Touchstone Suite, New York, 1970. Giacomo Manz (Bergamo, 1908- Ardea, 1991), pseudonym of Giacomo Manzoni, was a famous italian artist and sculptor. He devoted himself to sculpture, but also to drawings, etchings and paintings, often centred on female models, painters, female dancers and lovers figures. His works are valued also abroad, where, as well as in Italy, he exhibited from 1933. He also won several italian and international prizes thanks to his famous works and his importance in art field. His works are exposed in several museums, like Vatican Museums and Giacomo Manz Museum in Ardea. Mythology is one of the dear themes in Manz’s production. He also beautifully designed sets and costumes of the theatre tragedy “Oedipus Rex” by Igor Stravinskij, performed in 1964.
