Description
Arabian Face is an authentic original etching artwork, realized in 1974 by the Italian artist Giacomo Porzano (1925-2006). Hand-signed on the lower right in pencil and dated, numbered on the lower left, edition of 3/5 prints, Artist’s proof. In very good condition, except for very small yellowish foxing. This contemporary piece representing one of the best-known Porzano’s artwork, with the master’s touch, the incredible finesse of the line, vibrant and intense, through harmonious deft strokes of the scarf around the face. Giacomo Porzano (1925-2006) He first attended the Carrara Academy and then the Faculty of Architecture in Florence. Since 1959 he has lived and worked mainly in Rome. He died in Pescosolido on May 19, 2006. He participated in the Rome Quadrennial in 1965, the Venice Biennale in 1968 and was an internationally renowned artist. Among his favorite themes, in addition to the early Ligurian landscapes, we find portraits of friends, everyday scenes, common characters, all scrutinized with a keen investigating eye. He has participated in national and international exhibitions of figurative art in Italy and abroad.
