Description
A large decorative plate with expressive, multi-colored glazing. A beautiful example of artistic ceramics.
The plateau is in the form of a bowl with wide and high edges, and a relatively small base. The attention is drawn to the colorful make-up created by the application of oxides and other compounds on the painted surface, discolouring into different colors, melting and dripping at different rates. The unpredictable end result results from the mastery and knowledge of ceramic techniques by the artist making the object. Each such product is unique.
The outside of the bowl is brown and evenly covered, and the inside has many dripping patches that resemble organic structures such as coral. The colors applied to the orange brown were perfectly matched – a delicate blue varied with white, dark blackberry violet and intense navy blue.
