Description
A very well executed mid century modernist still life composition, painted in oil onto canvas. In this painting we see a lemon, a pipe, a matchbox and lemon juicer, all set against a rich green background. The yellow of the lemon pops against the green, and it is this contrast in colour that draws the eye in first. from there our eyes are lead around the different forms which are wonderfully balanced. The juniper green in this painting is rich and vivid, and really sets a deep, restful tone for the painting. This oil on canvas is housed in a complementary grey stained wood frame. The painting is in excellent vintage condition, and the frame has some wear as well as a small loss at its lower right corner as shown. Size: 29 x 50 cm (including frame)
