Description
Detail painting, mixed media, oil and acrylic on cardboard, signed at bottom “L. Moreno,” by Luis Guevara Moreno, prominent Venezuelan artist born 1926, died 2010. Equipped with black lacquered wooden frame and protective glass. The painting presents some canons of abstractionism, together with elements of surrealism and depicts two antique oil lamps suspended in the air and on the back an abstract composition rich in shades and drippings of color.

Luis Guevara Moreno ( Valencia , Venezuela , June 21, 1926 – Caracas , Venezuela , November 26, 2010) was a pioneer artist of Venezuelan geometric abstract art and also the most important Venezuelan artist in printmaking . He was part of the Los Dissidents group in the middle of the last century. He received, during his professional career, the National Painting Award in 1959 and the National Drawing and Engraving Award in 1969.
