Description
Playful Mid-Century serving cart in the style of Mathieu Mategot with 3 shelves and 1 bottle holder from the 1950s / 1960s.
The bar trolley is made of lacquered metal and decorative brass applications. In total, the trolley has three removable trays. Looking from the top to the bottom, these become larger. All 3 have an openwork cross-hole pattern and are edged in brass. On the side are two large wheels, these have gold colored brass flowers as rims. Likewise, the handles are brass colored and spirally turned. Overall, the exhibit is in good condition for its age and the paint is still original and therefore somewhat flaked in some places. There is also some rust on one tray and two small screws are missing, but this does not affect the stability.
In terms of style, this cart could be modeled after the French designer Mathieu Mategot, who designed bar carts or trays in the 50s with a similar perforated pattern.
