Description
Napolon au tombeu de Frdric Le Grand is an etching realized after Marie-Nicolas Ponce-Camus that belongs to the suite AtlasBatt realized for Jacques Norvins Histoire de Napoleon, published in 1837. Author Jacques Norvins published one of the most comprehensive and influential histories on the life and military career of Napoleon. 14×22 cm. Good conditions except for some yellow on the margins. In 1805 Napoleon created the Confederation of the Rhine, which brought together the states in Germany. The largest states were Bavaria and Saxony. Prussia never accepted French supremacy, and William III pressured the United Kingdom to join forces against France. On September 25 of the same year, Napoleon advanced on Prussia with 160,000 men. He entered Potsdam and went to the grave of Frederick the Great saying: “If he were still alive we wouldn’t be here”.
