Excellent conditions. Rainer Maria Kchenmeister (Ahlen, 1926 – Paris, 2010). Rainer Kchenmeister was the son of the communist journalist Walter Kchenmeister, who belonged to the “Rote Kapelle” resistance group during the Third Reich and was executed in 1943. In 1928, he moved with his parents to Berlin, where his brother Claus Kchenmeister was born. After attending school, he began training as a decorative painter in 1941. Before that, he had already assisted the painter and sculptor Kurt Schumacher, a friend of his father’s, with the design of the entrance hall of the Neue Post in Berlin-Schneberg and, above all, learned the basic techniques of wall painting.
