Beautiful finely watercolored engraving from the mid-19th century, depicting a German view of the Rhine, in a beautiful golden frame with elegant teal passepartout.
Engraver: Robert Brandard, engraver and landscape painter born Birmingham in 1805, died in London in 1862. Son of Thomas Brandard, also an engraver and printer on copper, he was a pupil of Edward Goodal in London in 1824. He made a name for himself especially for his engravings of views and landscapes, but he also exhibited some paintings at theBritish Institution.
