Description
This captivating limited edition print by Robert Llims (Spanish, b. 1943) is a study of the public aquatic sculptures created by the artist which stand in the sea in the port of Barcelona. These floating white figures, near the Rambla de Mar, are titled ‘Els Miraestels’ (translated as ‘Look at the Stars’). In this print, the artist gives us a wonderful view into his inspiration behind the sculptures. We see the same figure, surrounded by the galaxy and looking up at the stars, which are spectacularly reflected in the water. Robert Llims is a Spanish Post War & Contemporary painter who was born in 1943. Work by this artist is currently being shown at Arts Santa Monica in Barcelona. Numerous key galleries and museums such as Muse Nacional d’Art de Catalunya have featured Robert Llims’s work in the past. The artist is known for his unique art which is inspired by his life-changing experience of seeing aliens, which he says he will paint ‘until he can paint no more’.
