Description
Beautiful bronze and wood sculpture designed in 1995, fine Italian manufacture. SIGNED.
The base is made of lacquered black wood. This form serves as a pedestal for the actual sculpture.
The main body is a sculpture representing the Mesozoic era, in fact we see the sculpture of a kind of animal reminiscent of a fish or a marine mollusc, with scales and fins very different from those of today. Clearly the Mesozoic era harks back to a time when animals were evolving and have continued to evolve subsequently.
The sculpture is very beautiful and suitable for decorating classy areas.
Bibliography:
Biagio Romeo is a sculptor from Ragusa and has a permanent, personal exhibition dedicated to him.
The artist was born in Comiso in 1926, a pupil of another great master, Biagio Lucenti. He specialized in the art of moulding and shapes in Rome, but it was Milan that opened its doors to him. But he certainly never forgot his birthplace; in fact, in 1978 he won ”David D’oro” in Taormina. In Comiso he has a permanent exhibition of his creations.
