Description
We are offering for sale a billboard promo poster celebrating 15 years of activity of the British folk rock band “The Levellers”. The band was founded in 1988 in Brighton by Jeremy Cunningham, Charlie Heather, Jonathan Sevink and Mark Chadwick and takes its name from the Levellers, a radically democratic faction of Oliver Cromwell’s New Model Army. The Poster is giant, measuring 104.5cm wide and 144.5cm high and is really well preserved thanks to being stored in the wooden and glass frame. The irresistible graphic image of this poster, as well as the entire visual identity of the Levellers, is the work of the artist, as well as bassist of the group Jeremy Cunningham since 1988. His work is inspired by an interest in early Medieval history. Especially the stories of Irish saints and early Christianity, Jeremy also draws ideas from his personal experiences of the world today. As you look at his paintings, you will also be able to spot iconic landmarks of his hometown Brighton and personal anecdotes from whatever was happening in his life as he was painting.
