Description
Striking minimal shaped metal table light, design by Floris Fiedeldij and produced for only a short time around 1960, by his company Artimeta ( Soest, Netherlands ). This light is documented in the 1960 Artimeta catalogue, called model M2.
Subtle light grey shade with perforation that evokes a nice fifties atmosphere. The matt chrome arm can move in the holder ( up and down ), the heavy metal base keeps the light stable.
The style is typical modern Italian, inspired by the designs of Sarfatti, Arredoluce and Stilnovo. Together with Hala and Anvia, Artimeta was one of the Dutch companies who became succesful producing small metal furniture and lighting designs in a new, innovative European style.
Great dent free, damage free condition, minimal marks, all is checked and wire has been replaced through the whole fixture. Light source: one normal E 27 holder, suitable for modern LED bulbs. Comfortable switch integrated in the wire. Ready for instant use. This could be your perfect fifties desk or table light to complete your modernist interior.
