Description
Vintage, bentwood armchair by Baumann or Fischel, circa 40s
The armchair is made of beechwood with a wonderful, rich, dark oak- colored finish.
Early production with round, not square bentwood, and older, flat- head, hardwood screw, not the later Philips screws.
Piece is in overall good, original and vintage condition, with some light marks, signs of age and previous use commensurate with time, as well as patina of age and time. Some light marks on the seat (see photos next to a one cent coin for perspective), backrest, legs, bentwood and overall structure (see photos).
Piece is solid and stable. It has been cleaned, oiled, and waxed with respect to its original patina of time.
