Description
Antique bronze vase, attributed to the historic Chiurazzi Naples foundry,
The Chiurazzi foundry did not put any mark on small vases like this one, given the excellent quality of the chiseling and the metal, which turns out to be real bronze, it is definitely work done by a foundry of excellence. The portrait depicts the emperor Caracalla (188-217 AD): the face is presented with a slight twist to the left and the expression is marked by a frown of anger full of pathos.
